I'm exercising, something must be wrong

I went back to Ames last week and bummed around for a few days since I had nothing better to do. I ended up going out to the bar 2 of the 3 nights I was back. I had to come back on Friday to work, otherwise i would have stayed the whole weekend in Ames. Oh well. Work gave me something to do.

After work on Friday I went and hung out with my friend Alex. A couple of his friends from Nevada were over to visit for the night, so a lot of drinking ensued, as often does when a group of Nevada people get together. Alex was wanting to go out at like 10:30, but we kept opening more beers at his apartment and did not make it out till 12:30. Oh well, it was cheaper to drink at his place half the night than the bar.

We hung out at a place called the Piano Lounge till closing time. That was my first time there. It thought it was a nice little chill bar that I'd be up for going to again. Afterwords it was back to Alex's apartment where we watched Dazed and Confused and wrapped-up the night around 4am. It was late and I was tired so I crashed at his place and slept in a recliner.

I mostly bummed around on Saturday. Was thinking of going out, but ended up watching a movie and staying in. I was still tired from the night before seeing how sleeping in a recliner doesn't make for the best sleep.

Sunday started out pretty lazy. I finally got off my lazy ass around 3pm and swapped out the snow tires for my road tires on my bike, since there is no snow on the ground and it will probably be at least another week before we see any of the white stuff. I ended up putting in a 10 mile ride, one of the miles was strait up hill. And what better way to finish off Sunday night than with a kegger! Alex was having a party so I went over and celebrated the birth of Martin Luther King and the start of the semester with some PBR. It was a good time. Met a few people and convinced my friend Steph to come out for a bit and be social.

I left the kegger around 1:30 and woke-up at 7:00 this morning and went to work at 8. I took it easy the night before knowing that work would come early. Work was alright. Chatted with my co-worker most of the day and played a game of spades with him. I ended up losing despite it being his first game of spades. Beginners luck on his part I guess. After work i decided I had felt so damn good after my bike ride yesterday that I would go out and run today. I'm proud to say I put in 2 whole miles without once stopping. That is something I haven't accomplished since my cross country days in high school. Needless to say I've felt good after getting in a nice workout that I think I'll continue this trend. Next I want to get motivated to lift weights 3 times a week. We'll see if I manage to put in the time for that. For now though I'll stick to sit-ups and push-ups.

Anyway, my first day of grad classes start tomorrow. We'll see how that goes. My schedule shouldn't be too bad. Class Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays with one night class on Mondays. That makes for 9 credits. Work Mondays 8am - 3pm and Fridays 3pm to 8pm, and plenty of open time on the weekends.
